Please read these Terms & Conditions carefully before booking, handing over, or arranging any shipment with Bright Cargo.

1. Introduction & Acceptance of Terms
These Terms & Conditions govern cargo, freight forwarding, transportation, customs support, door-to-door delivery and related logistics services provided by Bright Cargo.
By requesting a quotation, booking a shipment, handing cargo over to Bright Cargo, using our services, or providing shipment information to us, the shipper and/or consignee confirms that they have read, understood and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.
These Terms apply to shipments transported by air, sea and land, where applicable, together with any service-specific conditions, carrier regulations, customs requirements and applicable laws or regulations.
The shipper is responsible for ensuring that all information provided in relation to a shipment is complete, accurate and truthful.
Where specific conditions apply to Air Cargo or Sea Cargo, those conditions will be clearly identified within these Terms & Conditions.
2. Definitions
For the purpose of these Terms & Conditions, the following words shall have the meanings set out below:
Bright Cargo / We / Us / Our
Refers to Bright Cargo and its authorized employees, agents, representatives and service partners involved in providing cargo and logistics services.
Shipper / Sender / Customer
Refers to the individual, company or organization that books, arranges, submits or hands over cargo to Bright Cargo for transportation.
Consignee / Receiver
Refers to the individual, company or organization identified as the recipient of the shipment at the destination.
Shipment / Cargo / Goods
Refers to any package, parcel, carton, baggage, personal effects, commercial goods or other items accepted for transportation through Bright Cargo.
Carrier
Refers to any airline, shipping line, land transport operator or other third-party transportation provider used to move a shipment.
Services
Refers to cargo collection, packing, freight forwarding, air freight, sea freight, land transportation, customs support, documentation, tracking, delivery and other related logistics services provided or arranged by Bright Cargo.
Dangerous or Prohibited Goods
Refers to goods that are restricted, prohibited, hazardous, dangerous or otherwise subject to special handling, declaration, approval or transportation requirements under applicable laws, customs regulations, carrier rules or international transportation standards.
Customs Charges
Refers to customs duties, taxes, penalties, inspection fees, storage charges, clearance fees and any other charges imposed by government authorities, customs agencies, ports, airports or other authorized bodies.
Force Majeure
Refers to circumstances beyond the reasonable control of Bright Cargo or the Carrier, including severe weather, natural disasters, war, armed conflict, terrorism, piracy, sanctions, strikes, government restrictions, port or airport closures, congestion, route changes and similar unforeseen events.
3. Shipper Responsibilities & Shipment Information
The shipper is responsible for providing complete and accurate information relating to the shipment.
For Air Cargo shipments, the shipper must ensure that all shipment details, including the nature, quantity, value and classification of the goods, are accurate and complete and comply with the applicable air cargo requirements.
The shipper must provide all documents required for transportation, customs clearance and delivery of the shipment.
Failure to provide accurate information or required documentation may result in delays, additional charges or other consequences imposed by customs authorities, carriers or relevant service providers.
Any additional charges arising from missing or incomplete customs documentation shall be borne by the shipper and/or consignee.
4. Prohibited & Dangerous Goods
The carriage of prohibited, contraband, dangerous or undeclared dangerous goods is strictly prohibited.
The shipper is responsible for ensuring that the shipment does not contain any goods that are prohibited, restricted, dangerous or otherwise not permitted for transportation under applicable regulations.
For Air Cargo shipments, dangerous goods must comply with the applicable air cargo requirements and regulations.
Any fines, penalties, confiscations, charges or other expenses arising at the origin or destination as a result of prohibited, contraband, dangerous or undeclared goods shall be the sole responsibility of the shipper and/or consignee.
Bright Cargo shall not be responsible for any such fines, penalties, confiscations or related expenses imposed by customs authorities, carriers or other relevant authorities.
5. Packaging, Labelling & Fitness for Carriage
The shipper is responsible for ensuring that all cargo is properly packed, securely sealed and correctly labelled before transportation.
For Air Cargo shipments, the cargo must comply with applicable air cargo handling standards and must be suitable for carriage by air.
Bright Cargo may require appropriate packing, labelling or supporting documentation where necessary for safe handling and transportation.
The shipper remains responsible for the suitability of the packaging and for ensuring that the goods are presented in a condition fit for transportation.
6. Delays & Transit Responsibility
Bright Cargo shall not be held responsible for delays in transit caused by circumstances including:
- Adverse weather conditions
- Carrier-related technical issues
- Customs clearance procedures
- Airport handling operations
- Container handling at ports of origin or destination
For Air Cargo shipments, Bright Cargo accepts no responsibility for delays in onward transfer from Colombo (CMB) to final inland destinations.
For Sea Cargo shipments, Bright Cargo shall not be responsible for delays in delivery to locations outside Colombo (CMB).
7. Insurance & Claims
Cargo is carried at the shipper’s risk unless insurance has been separately arranged and paid for.
For any future insurance claim, the shipper must provide an insured packing list together with all required supporting documents.
Additional documentation may be required to process a claim, including an official complaint report issued at the destination.
For Sea Cargo shipments, the insured packing list must be provided at the time the cargo is handed over to Bright Cargo.
Failure to provide the required packing list or supporting documentation may affect the processing of any insurance claim.
8. Customs Clearance, Duties, Taxes & Additional Charges
The shipper and/or consignee must provide all documents required for customs clearance.
Failure to provide the necessary documentation may result in additional charges, which shall be borne by the shipper and/or consignee.
Any customs duties, taxes or other charges imposed by the authorities in the destination country shall be the sole responsibility of the shipper and/or consignee.
All such charges must be paid in full before the shipment can be released and delivered.
If any customs duties, taxes or other outstanding charges remain unpaid, the shipment may be held until all amounts due are settled in full.
9. Tracking, Privacy & Communications
A secure and unique tracking link will be provided for your shipment in accordance with Qatar Law No. (13) of 2016 on Personal Data Privacy Protection.
By providing your contact information to Bright Cargo, you consent to receive communications relating to your shipment and our services through SMS, WhatsApp and email.
These communications may include:
- Shipment status and tracking updates
- Service-related notifications
- Important operational updates
- Promotional information
Your personal details will not be published on the Bright Cargo website.

10. Sea Cargo Passport & HBL Requirements
For Sea Cargo shipments involving HBL documentation, the customer agrees to provide their passport to the destination by courier or speed post when requested by the appointed agent.
The passport must be dispatched within the timeframe specified by the appointed agent.
Failure to send the passport within the required timeframe may result in additional charges.
The customer also acknowledges that additional charges may apply if the vessel arrives at the destination before the customer’s arrival.
11. Force Majeure, War & Additional Surcharges
The shipper acknowledges and agrees that additional charges, surcharges or costs may arise due to circumstances beyond the reasonable control of Bright Cargo, the Carrier or Freight Forwarder.
Such circumstances may include:
- War or war-related risks
- Armed conflict
- Terrorism
- Piracy
- Sanctions
- Strikes
- Port closure or congestion
- Vessel deviation
- Route changes
- Government restrictions
- Other unforeseen circumstances beyond the reasonable control of the Carrier or Freight Forwarder
Any additional costs imposed by carriers, ports, terminals, authorities, insurers or other service providers as a result of such circumstances may be passed on to the shipper and/or consignee.
The shipper agrees to pay such additional charges upon demand.
12. System-Generated Documents & Signature
Documents issued by Bright Cargo may be generated electronically through our systems.
Where stated on the document, no physical or handwritten signature is required for the document to be valid for operational purposes.
Customer personal details will not be published on the Bright Cargo website.

Customers are encouraged to provide their shipment or tracking details when contacting our support team so that the inquiry can be handled efficiently.
14. Acceptance of Terms
By using Bright Cargo services and handing over cargo for transportation, the shipper acknowledges that they have read, understood and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.
The shipper is responsible for ensuring that all shipment information, documentation and declarations provided to Bright Cargo are accurate and complete.
These Terms & Conditions apply together with any additional requirements imposed by carriers, customs authorities or other relevant authorities in relation to the shipment.
